Brian began his professional career with a degree in Technical Theater from Carnegie Mellon University and worked at several theaters in the Connecticut area such as Goodspeed Opera House, Hartford Stage, and Long Wharf Theater. In 1999, he left that all behind to learn traditional cabinet making at North Bennett Street School in Boston.
While working at Plimoth Plantation, Brian also was an instructor with the workshop program. In 2008, Brian began his apprenticeship in the Anthony Hay cabinet shop at Colonial Williamsburg receiving his Journeyman papers in 2015. After almost 12 years studying and building furniture, Brian took the position of Journeyman Supervisor in the Joiner shop. In 2023, he became the Master. In his time at Colonial Williamsburg, he researched and built a variety of projects ranging from tea chests, circular windows, and making specialized woodworking tools.
