Unless it is a beginning class where lumber milling is being taught, all the lumber for a specific project will be milled to thickness, color matched and frequently ripped to width and ready for your use. We realize that waiting in line to use the jointer or thickness planer is not the best use of your limited class time and careful and gradual milling (over a period of weeks sometimes) will always yield more stable material than stock that is taken from rough to finished dimension in a matter of hours.

Most project parts will have been milled twice, allowing the lumber to “move”, before the final finish milling. This process is a lot of work for us, but it ensures that you will be working with the finest quality and most appropriate lumber for the project at hand.
