Federal Style decorative bandings are a fascinating subject. People have this vision of gluing in little pieces of wood with a tweezers. Nothing could be farther from the reality! This new class will go into some of the basic processes of making a banding but will quickly pivot to concentrate on sand shaded bandings. The technique of singeing light colored wood in hot beach sand creates a 3D effect which can make some truly unique decorative bandings. Bob will demonstrate a number of different styles and then students will work together to make more. At the end of the weekend we should have a collection of different bandings that we can then split up so everyone has an example of what we all made. Don’t miss this fun & informative class.
