      Description

Explore the fine points of cabinetmaking while building an elegant wall cabinet in this 2-long weekend (six days) class with Fine Woodworking Editor & Creative Director, Mike Pekovich. This project packs a big punch when it comes to lessons in case, door, and drawer construction. Learn a fast and efficient method for accurate dovetails that combines hand and machine work. We'll cover the ins and outs of frame-and-panel construction while building, fitting, and hanging a pair of doors. Finally, we'll cover a fast and efficient way to build drawers. The focus of the class will be on combining machine and handwork with classic construction techniques to produce work of the highest quality in the most efficient manner. This class provides a great foundation for building casework of any size or style. The project, a wall cabinet perfect for storing wine glasses, will be made in quartersawn & rift sawn white oak. The distinctive ray fleck of the quartersawn stock, balanced with the linear pattern of the rift sawn door frame adds an understated elegance that is a hallmark of Mike’s work. Don’t miss this opportunity to work with one of our leading instructors while making an elegant project that will become a family heirloom. Sign up today- class is limited to eight participants. Tuition: $965.00 plus materials ($279.00 plus tax)
