Description
In this three-day hands-on class with renowned furniture maker Michael Cullen, participants will investigate the endless possibilities with surface carving, milk paint finishes, and box making. This highly creative workshop will explore ideas in box making that go beyond the typical six-sided container. Emphasis will be on shaping and sculpting boxes to create pleasing curves, unusual shapes, and just about anything fun and zany. A primary focus will be on creating patterns and textures and applying color to the surfaces of the boxes. We will supply the majority of tools needed but if you have carving gouges you like to use bring them along with the regular tools listed on the website. Michael is a regular contributor to Fine Woodworking magazine and teaches at many different venues all over the country. He is particularly well known for his creative bandsaw boxes along with very unique texturing & coloring techniques. Sign up today- class is limited to eight participants.
