Build an Arts & Crafts Style Tall Dresser with Mike Pekovich

Mike Pekovich tall dresser 640Have you been think of making a dresser? Did you make the low style dresser that we made with Mike in 2015? Here's a great Arts and Crafts-inspired piece with a light and lively look that still packs in a lot of storage and it complements the dresser we made in 2015. The case features tapered legs and an arched overhanging top. The frame-and-panel design simplifies the construction so the project comes together quickly. In this weeklong class with Fine Woodworking's Mike Pekovich, you'll learn how to make a lightweight, rock-solid case using double mortise-and-tenon joinery. We'll also take advantage of efficient building strategies that you can put to use on other projects as well. Finally, we'll fill out the case with traditional dovetailed drawers that will provide a great lesson in fast, accurate dovetail joinery. Given the limitations of a 6-day class you should not expect to fully complete the dresser in class. The dovetailed drawers alone are a day’s work for an experienced furniture maker. You should expect to have the dresser far enough along that you can comfortably finish it up in your own shop. Don’t miss this opportunity to build a family heirloom under the guidance of a great instructor. Sign up today. Tuition: $795.00 plus materials
