Build a White Oak or Walnut Writing Desk with Mike Pekovich
Working from home seems to have caught on in the last year or so. Because of that, work space in many homes is at a premium. Just about any home can benefit from a nice little desk that can be tucked away when not in use and it compliments just about any room style. This light and lively desk - which you can make in either 1/4 sawn white oak or walnut, does away with the banks of drawers in a traditional desk and instead provides a wide open base highlighted by subtly tapered legs and through mortise-and-tenon construction. The desk is topped with a small box of drawers perfectly sized for pens and pencils, bills, chargers and thumb drives, as well as space for a nice set of stationary. You will learn some great furniture making techniques and spend a week doing what you love. The desk is approximately 37" long X 23" deep X 29" high. Mike is the editor & Art Director for Fine Woodworking Magazine and has recently published his second book Foundations of Woodworking, Taunton Press. Join Mike Pekovich in this six-day class and come away with a nice addition to your home along with some great skills! Tuition: $945.00 plus materials.
